June Family Programs At The Mount!

The Mount, Edith Wharton's historic home in Lenox, offers a delightful lineup of youth and family events this summer. From interactive storytimes to creative workshops, there's something for every young explorer and their families to enjoy:

StoryWalk® with South Berkshire Kids

Date: Tuesday, June 3

Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Location: The Mount

Cost: Free

Hosted by South Berkshire Kids, families will gather at the top of the StoryWalk trail to enjoy the featured book of the month, followed by a leisurely stroll through the scenic grounds.


Make-and-Take Arts and Crafts!

Date: Sunday, June 8

Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Cost: Free

Join Mount art teacher Ms. Jackie for a creative morning of seasonal art projects. Children will engage in mixed-media activities that encourage artistic expression and take home their unique creations.


Stories & Stretches with Flow on Main

Date: Sunday, June 8

Time: 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Cost: Free

Designed for kids in grades K-5, this outdoor class combines storytelling with yoga-inspired movements. Led by Kimberly Kidder of Flow on Main, children will enjoy an engaging session that promotes both imagination and physical activity.


Little Roots | Under the Tent Concert for Kids

Date: Sunday, June 15

Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Cost: Free

Bring the whole family to enjoy a lively performance by Little Roots, featuring a mix of folk, bluegrass, and kindie rock music. This festive concert under the tent promises toe-tapping tunes for all ages.


Youth Workshop: Right Back At You with Carolyn Mackler

Date: Sunday, June 15

Time: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Cost: $5

Bestselling author Carolyn Mackler presents her new middle-grade novel, "Right Back at You," and leads a letter-writing workshop for children aged 8–12. Participants will explore the art of personal correspondence in this interactive session.


 Build a Band with Berkshire Music School

Date: Sunday, June 22

Time: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Cost: Free

Join Ms. Julia from Berkshire Music School for an afternoon of musical exploration. Children will listen to, analyze, and learn to play songs of their choice. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments, though it's not required.


Lightning Bug Show Mass Audubon

Date: Wednesday, June 25

Time: 8:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Cost: $7-$20

Experience a magical summer light show with your family and learn how best to view or gently catch and release fireflies! After a short presentation, we’ll take an evening walk in the meadows for firefly viewing while keeping our eyes open for the stars, planets, and twilight wildlife.


Tunes for Tots with Berkshire Music School

Date: Sunday, June 29

Time: 11 AM - 12 PM

Cost: Free

This Sunday morning music and movement class introduces children ages 2-5 to a wide array of music from all different genres and origins through an equally wide array of fun, age-appropriate, student-oriented activities. Led by Mr. Dan of Berkshire Music School, Tunes for Tots incorporates instruction in both English and Spanish.


The Mount's Main House, Terrace Café, and Bookstore open for the season on May 10, 2025. The gardens and grounds are free and open daily from dawn to dusk.
