Fried food requires lots of oil, so to remind us of the miracle of the oil lasting for eight days in our the story of Chanukah we rejoice by eating delicious fried foods. Every year, thousands of Jews around the world make fried potato pancakes called latkes and jelly-filled donuts called sufganiyot. Below are some easy to follow recipes for each–be sure to give yourself lots of time to make the latkes!
