With almost four weeks behind me and a Monday that saw no weight gain even after indulging in the Thanksgiving holiday I've learned a few things:
- It's OK to indulge as long as you find the clean foods now and then in between your indulgences.
- Workouts help. Although I'm not losing pounds, I am definitely losing inches and gaining muscle (I'm actually taking a step out of my comfort zone and showing you a before photo and a current after.
- The types of foods you eat matter. I'm not talking about weight-wize, I'm talking about general feelings of well-being. I didn't gain weight with some of my splurges last week, but i definitely felt bloated and the inflammation that had previously left my body was back. My knees and ankle ached. My tendinitis in my elbow flared up. And I was more irritable and had some major reaction to something on my face for four days. Clean eating definitely keeps me feeling and looking better.
- Accountability is a key factor. When I know I have Aimee Marshall waiting for me for a private training session, or my friend Diana waiting to be picked up, I am more likely to get my butt away from the computer and to the gym.
- That although you have bad weeks (and this one has felt like a doozie), there's always next week. Right?
Only two and a half weeks left to this journey with Berkshire Fitness and Wellness series and I plan to rock it!
