The 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival Celebrates it's 14th Year

with Plays, A Winter Festival, Dance and More!

PITTSFIELD– The 14th annual 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival encourages everyone to get outside and enjoy all there is to love about Pittsfield! 

Presented by the City of Pittsfield and Barrington Stage Company and presented in partnership with Mill Town Foundation, the festival features a live array of music, art, theatre, dance, play, ice sculpting, outdoor fun, fireworks and more from February 13-23, 2025 in the heart of the Berkshires.

“The 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival is the perfect opportunity to bundle up, get outside and enjoy all that winter has to offer,” stated Pittsfield Mayor Peter Marchetti.  “From outdoor activities to events and exhibitions, the festival has something for everyone. You won’t want to miss it.”

Downtown Pittsfield, Inc is coordinating A Taste of Downtown for the entire month with featured events throughout the 10 days; Hot Plate Brewing Company is hosting Ten x Ten, with a beer release each day; Wander hosts First Line: 10×10 Community Storytelling Event and other events throughout the festivalthe Berkshire Art Association’s Real Art Party and the Berkshires Jazz concert both return this year.

The free 10 Minutes of Fireworks are back!  It returns to the Common on First Street on Saturday, February 22 at 6pm (dusk).  NOTE:  The fireworks will be launched from the Common so the viewing area will be in the First Street Parking Lot, across from the Common.  No one will be allowed inside the Common when the fireworks are being launched.  Berkshire United Way will host 10x the Fun from 3:30-5:30pm Saturday, February 22 at the Zion Lutheran Church before the Fireworks with a special fire dance performance by Opal Raven in between.

The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts will feature OFF the STREETS where local mural artists get Off the Streets and onto the walls. Experience a vibrant group show featuring 10 talented local mural artists who have enriched Pittsfield’s streetscape with their stunning public art.  Featuring Hope Aguilera, Mike Carty, Huck Elling, Diane Firtell, Frances Chloe Jones-Whitman, Pops Peterson, Cara Petricca, Stef Quetti, Shelsy Rodriguez, Jesse Tobin McCauley.  The show runs February 5-28, 2025:  Gallery open Wednesday – Friday 11am -3pm or by appointment with an artists’ reception on Thursday, February 13 from 5-8pm.

There are plenty of outdoor options.  Pittsfield’s Recreation Program is hosting the 2nd annual Winter Festival on Monday, February 17th, from 10am-1pm at Clapp Park. This is a free, family-friendly outdoor event that will include sled races, a snow sculpture building contest, snowshoeing, a winter senses safari walk, and more!

Artists Peter Vacchina and Robert Markey will be creating works of art made from ice at Palace Park on Friday, February 14 (this date may change due to weather).  Look for Facebook and Instagram updates and live footage of this event.  Curl Berkshires and  Berkshire Natural Resources Council (BNRC) and Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) have 10×10 events as well.

Jacob’s Pillow – America’s longest-running international dance festival, located in Becket, MA – will host a free dance and movement workshop about community and aging led by artists Michael Richter and Liv Schaffer on February 15 at 11am at the Common Room, Zion Lutheran Church, 74 First Street. Open to all with a special invitation to seniors.

Hancock Shaker Village is bringing back The Big Chill to add to the 10×10 festivities.
