Head Under the Sea with Disney's "The Little Mermaid"

30th Edition Now on Digital and Blu-ray Feb 26th

In a world of Moana, Rapunzel, Elsa, and Merida a lot of our kids haven't seen the classic Disney princess movies. I love the new Disney princesses as much as the next person, but I also really love the old classics.

One of my very favorites is being released February 26th on Blu-ray so mark your calendars! It's the 30th Anniversary Edition of "The Little Mermaid" and has so many new features that I can't wait for you to see. You can also now add this movie to your digital library which has been a huge win at our house!

We received the new release a little early and I was almost giddy. Ok, not almost, I was giddy! Watching my daughter experience this movie that I love so much was really such a fun experience for me. Seeing her fall in love with my favorite characters just made me smile and I can't wait for other parents to have the same experience.

Ariel is such an iconic strong princess that I think we can all relate to in some way or another. She goes for what she wants and pushes obstacles to the wayside, never losing sight of her dreams. I love that Disney has these strong characters for our children to relate to.

After showing the movie to my daughter, I couldn't stop there. I took the movie and threw a moving screening party for 100 kids at Vista School who are performing in The Little Mermaid musical. And guess what, it opens the same day that the movie is released. How cool is that? The kids were over the moon excited, many of them never having seen it before. I absolutely loved the excitement as they watched this movie, loving every minute.

As we watched the movie, it was a common comment among the adults that they wanted to go home and have their own kids watch the show because they were remembering how much they loved the movie. It really does bring back memories and childhood joy watching this movie- but this time in 4K Ultra HD. Many commented that the last time they had seen the movie it was on VHS so this was a real treat.
