Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. is now hiring for the 2021 Downtown Pittsfield Ambassador Program and new this year, become a Tree Ambassador!
 

A great program starts with great people. We are looking for candidates who are willing to learn, can think on their feet, and who can provide a high level of customer service with a smile and a great attitude! If you take pride in your community and want to work to make it better, then this is the job for you. If you are bright, cheerful, friendly, compassionate, and have a desire to make a difference, you may have what it takes to be a part of the Downtown Ambassador team. If you have an interest in urban ecology and/or environmental justice, you may have what it takes to be a Downtown Tree Ambassador.

Employment type: Part-time, Seasonal, Non-exempt

Compensation: $15.00/hour

Hours: Up to 20 -30 hours a week, subject to available funding

Number of positions: Four

Estimated start date: Tree Ambassadors:  Friday, April 30, 2021.  Downtown Ambassadors:  Thursday, July 1, 2021

Estimated end date: Tree Ambassadors:  Wednesday, June 30, 2021 with potential to extend to September 6, 2021.  Downtown Ambassadors:  Monday, September 6, 2021

Location: Downtown and Morningside and West Side neighborhoods in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

*The Downtown Pittsfield Tree Ambassador Program is a partnership between Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. (DPI), the Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT), and the City of Pittsfield Police Department (PPD). DPI and BEAT seek to ensure that the investment by the Commonwealth and the City in the thousands of trees planted as part of the Massachusetts Greening the Gateway Cities Program (GGCP), and the benefits that they provide to residents, are sustained into the future. Tree Ambassadors will conduct outreach to Downtown businesses, residents, and neighborhoods to provide information on planted trees and tree care.
