Saturday is Family Day at Berkshire Busk!

A Magical Afternoon at Giggle Park

By Berkshire Busk! July 28, 2021

Clowns and stilts and magic - Oh MY! Berkshire Busk! announces an afternoon of family entertainment on August 7th at the Gazebo in downtown Great Barrington.

Giggle Park in Great Barrington will live up to its name, as kids of all ages are awed and amazed by the Berkshire Busk! performances — including stilt walkers and magicians! Kids will have their chance to take the stage in a drum circle and the afternoon will end with a special performance from the beloved local performer, Roger the Jester.

We want to ensure that Berkshire Busk! is for all ages, and the best way we could imagine is a separate event just for kids,” says festival director, Eugene Carr. “Great Barrington and the Berkshires have always been an ideal destination for families to live and vacation. And now, to experience the best of family-oriented busking.”

The event is sponsored by Robin’s Candy and Bola Granola, and the first 100 children that arrive will get a goodie bag of sweet surprises. Local antique car aficionado Tim Kane will bring his 1927 Model T Roadster and allow visitors to take a chance behind the wheel (with the engine off!).

Berkshire Busk! was conceived of and produced by arts entrepreneur Eugene Carr, born from a love of arts and a desire to support his adopted hometown through economic development. Great Barrington, voted “Best Small Town in America” by Smithsonian Magazine, felt the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and resulting slow down in tourism. While summer 2021 will bring back some level of normal activity, there will still be constraints on experiencing music and art in small, enclosed spaces. Berkshire Busk! brings the celebration of the arts to the streets.
