WHY
Family fun. Teachable moments. Have people come together for water and community.

According to Leslie Gabriel, producer of ‘And So It Flows’ podcast on WTBR-FM and one of the organizers of the Water Movie Nights, “our intention is to bring the Pittsfield community to enjoy some great water related, family films and to enjoy a night out in a new Pittsfield’s waterfront park on the Housatonic River.”

Amanda Bowers, an avid water lover and the general manager of AST Scuba on North Street in Pittsfield, is also involved in the organizing.  “These movies have a water centered theme and we are doing it at a park on the Housatonic River.  Our intention is for families out to our local blue and green spaces for a great water movie and experience water as a culture and as a community,” said Ms Bowers.

Tony Jackson of Westside Legends, one of the supporters of the Water Movie Nights, said “I like the fact the water movie nights can help our city to get acquainted with the riverfront park and in bring more attention to our local access to the Housatonic River.”
