BeatNest began as weekly group classes at the Lenox Community Center, where I drew a crowd of kids eager to learn about making beats, playing with synths, and creating songs with their peers. Soon after that positive response, I opened my studio in Pittsfield, where I now teach one-on-one and doubles classes to kids in the Berkshires.

Our space is equipped with two student workstations, each with music software — perfect for individual work and collaborations. We also feature a wide array of synthesizers from those designed specifically for kids to more professional synths that are easy to pick up, as well as kid-friendly DJ gear! BeatNest School is now offering classes to children as young as third grade and as old as twelfth. For the youngest, I recommend taking a doubles class with a friend, depending on his or her confidence level with technology.
