Coding Week at the Milne Library!

By Berkshires Macaroni Kid July 24, 2024

Come code at the Milne Library in Williamstown!

For 5th-8th graders who want to learn about computers and code! The first day will be a general introduction to code and computers, and the rest of the week will be split up into two interactive projects. It is not necessary to sign up for all events; sign up for any combination of events!  For example, you do not have to sign up for the intro session to participate in either of the projects, and the projects build on different concepts, so attending one is not required for attending the other.

Generally, bringing an internet accessing device is highly prefered for all events, but there will be laptops to borrow each day if that isn't possible! Snacks will be provided.

Code Your Own Jeopardy!

Kids work together to code a game of Jeopardy on their topic(s) of choice using HTML and CSS (coding) in this 2-day interactive class! Bring your own laptop or internet-accessing device. If you don’t have your own device to bring, we have some laptops for you to borrow! Snacks will be provided.

Minecraft Modding and Tech!

Learn more about Minecraft from its history to how to download and use mods! We will explore the file organization of the devices we use (phone, computers, iPad) in order to understand what happens when we modify Minecraft. This is a 2 day event (July 25th & 26th); sign-up required. Snacks provided!
