This Weekend! Berkshire Biodiversity Day 2025

By Berkshires Macaroni Kid September 10, 2025

ADAMS–Berkshire Biodiversity Day, also known as Berkshire BioBlitz, invites nature lovers of all ages to join scientists, naturalists, and environmental educators in identifying as many species as possible—plants, animals, fungi, and more—over the course of 24 hours.

This free, public event is open to everyone—from seasoned naturalists to curious newcomers. Stop by anytime to take part in the scheduled guided walks, live demonstrations of surveying techniques, and educational presentations, or contribute your own observations to our species survey. It’s a great opportunity to connect with the natural world and learn why protecting biodiversity matters.

All events meet at the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center, 135 Gould Road, Adams, MA. No registration required, but please check in at the center when you arrive. See below for a full schedule of events.

We will kick off this event with an introduction on how to use iNaturalist, which is a nature identification and observation tool that will help us keep track of all the species we see. Consider creating an account and downloading the app ahead of time, as well as joining the Berkshire Biodiversity Day 2025 project to ensure that your observations count towards our survey.
