We look forward to welcoming our friends back to the museum for an epic summer of exploration, growth, creation, and play!

Berkshire Museum camps offer children going into grades Pre-K through 8 the chance to make connections between art, science, and history in the Museum’s new classrooms and throughout our galleries. Campers develop skills, create art, conduct experiments, and make new friends, all while having a ton of fun!

Half-day camp: $200 ($175 members) per camp per week

Full-day camp: $400 ($350 members) per camp per week

Registration includes a $50 non-refundable administrative fee. Partial refunds (minus the administrative fee) are available for cancellations up to four weeks prior to the first day of camp. No refunds will be given for cancellations within four weeks of the first day of camp. Campers should be entering the indicated camp grade in September 2024.

Game Board Camp

August 19 – 23 | Game makers and game challengers alike, join us for a week of screenless fun! This camp offers modern multi-player games like Dixit, 7 Wonders, and Days will be spent launching campaigns, alternating between card games like Coup, and learning to design and create your own board game! Grades 3 to 6. Half Day: 1 to 4 pm


Junior Paleontologist: Art & Science

July 29 – August 2 | The age of dinosaurs brought to life! Learn about the remarkable science behind dino-digs that taught us about feathered raptors. Become a part of the artistic movement that captured the world’s fascination with these ancient lizards.
 Grades 1 to 2. Half Day: 1 to 4 pm

Junior Engineers

July 29 – August 2 | Let your imagination run wild! We will build with LEGOs, Snap-circuits, and ping-pong ball roller coasters. Find out how to build toothpick bridges that will hold several cans of soup: building up over-engineering skills! Grades 1 to 2. Half Day: 1 to 4 p.m.


Animal Adventures Camp

July 8-12 | Grab your packs and get ready to meet Berkshire Museum’s resident creatures. From the live specimens of the Aquarium and the Reptile Room to the models of animals in The World in Miniature, campers will learn about different animals’ habitats and how to care for living animals. Grades 1 to 2. Half Day: 1-4 p.m.

Dino Discovery

July 1 – 5 (except July 4) | Travel back in time to the era of the dinosaurs! Hatch eggs, learn about dinosaurs, and become an honorary archaeologist as you recreate prehistoric environments. Pre-K to K. Half Day: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Pond Camp

July 8 – 12 | Make a personal connection with the animals living in our own backyard. Listen to the sounds of local wildlife; find tracks; and spot turtles, frogs, crayfish, water bugs, herons, and more! This camp session includes two field trips to a local pond to observe animals in their natural habitat (weather permitting). Grades 1 to 2. Half Day: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

CSI: Monster Hunter

August 5 – 9 | Do you think you have what it takes to be a Cryptozoologist? Learn which interdisciplinary roles are used by detectives to gather evidence and decipher clues. Campers will put these newfound skills to the test as they search for mythical creatures. Grades 3 to 6. Half Day: 9 am to noon

Animation Camp

August 19 – 23 | It is time for some innovative animation! Learn how to create a stop-motion mini-movie from screen test to post-production. Develop your own story, make a storyboard, and design scenery and colorful characters. Campers’ animated clips will be featured in an animation festival held on the last day of camp. Grades 3 to 6. Half Day: 1 to 4 p.m.

Manga Camp

August 12 – 16 | Do you love anime and manga? Would you like to know more about the culture, history, and art behind these Japanese comics? Campers at the Berkshire Museum delve deep into manga storyboarding and characters’ themes and translate artistic symbols such as motion lines and sigh drops. Learn how to create your own comics with fellow manga enthusiasts! Grades 6 to 8. Half Day: 1 to 4 p.m.

Junior Archaeologist

July 29 – August 2 |Can you solve the case? Delve into the world of forensic archaeology and discover the techniques and technology used to uncover the past. Sharpen your detective skills as we explore this multidisciplinary field and solve ancient mysteries.
 Grades 1 to 2. Half Day: 9am to noon

Over the Rainbow

July 22 – 26 |  Have fun with color and light! From color wheels to prisms, art and science combine in vivid activities ranging from creating color chromatography (color separation), explosions of rainbow foam, and faux-stained glass. Grades 1 to 2. Half Day: 9am to noon

Show Biz Camp

July 15 – 19 | Are you ready for your close-up? Calling all budding writers, actors, and directors who wish to see their names in lights! Combining theatre and movie making, campers will create their own filmed plays, learn to constructively critique movies, and get a taste of all it takes to create the shows we love. (Filmed camper productions will be shared to guardians and families; screenings will be dependent on museum construction). Grades 3 to 6. Full Day: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Time Traveling Artists

August 5 – 9 | Grab your packs and get ready to meet Berkshire Museum’s resident creatures. Junior Curator

August 12 to 16 |Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Museum! With the help of our Chief Curator, campers will create their own mini-exhibitions. You will choose your own theme and select objects from the Museum’s collection, in addition to researching your own objects and creating exhibition materials. You will learn a lot about how much work it takes to create an exhibition. Grades 6 to 8. Half Day: 9 am to noon.




SNACKS / LUNCH

Parents and guardians are expected to send a snack with their camper for each camp they are a part of. There are designated snack times devoted to them eating a snack provided by a parent or guardian.

Students registered for both a morning and afternoon session on the same week should bring a lunch provided by a parent or guardian along with two snacks.

The designated lunch time is 12 PM – 1 PM.
