So even the best-laid plans have kinks in them.
For those who have been following by 6-Weeks Back to me with Berkshire Fitness and Wellness Center, using their Transformational Meal Program, attending workouts, and private training sessions with Aimee Marshall, I've been doing pretty well. In fact, as I said last week, I maintained over the Thanksgiving holiday (win), and this week I lost another point. So that's six pounds down in four weeks, but then BAM.
I was hit with a stomach bug Monday that just continues to hang on.
It hasn't stopped me from getting to the gym, even though my workouts don't feel great — Zumba on Monday, Pilates Reformer on Wednesday, and hopefully a class tomorrow if I feel better. But this stuff happens. It has taken me a little away from my eating plan because when I was trying to continue with protein, fruits and vegetables, my stomach had other plans. So meals have been a little more carb heavy (crackers and chicken noodle soup, toast (Ezekiel bread), a little pasta, but sometimes you just have to take care of you.
I'm still feeling better than I did before I started this journey. I'm tone, less bloated, and usually, have more energy (just not this week). My knees, ankles and right elbow ache less, and I can only believe that has something to do with exercising and stretching more (for the ankle) and eating a diet that is aimed at reducing inflammation.
I'm not discouraged, I'm just tired and a little soar. So I'm just taking that as my sign to take it easy. And then hopefully I'll get back at it with gusto next week.
Until then ... stay warm and healthy!
