Berkshire Fitness & Wellness Center โ€” 6 Weeks Back to Me Final Post

By Kelly Bevan McIlquham, Publisher, Berkshires Macaroni Kid December 20, 2018

It's less than a week until Christmas, I'm waiting for the last of the presents to arrive from Amazon, and I've got quite a bit of wrapping left to do, but one gift I won't have to wait for or wrap this year is the early gift I gave to myself.

Six and a half weeks ago, I kicked off my journey to find my way back to myself physically and mentally. I reached out to Aimee Marshall at Berkshire Fitness and Wellness Center to kickstart this journey and we created a workout regimen combined with Aimee's Transformational Meal Plan, and got to work.

It wasn't easy ... it's holiday season you know? Thanksgiving, Christmas parties ... there are lots of temptations and my willpower isn't the greatest — especially when it comes to appetizers and holiday cocktails. But I am happy to say, I am feeling more and more like myself every day since beginning this journey.

  • I have dropped 7 pounds.
  • I have decreased my overall fat percentage by 1 percent.
  • I have lost 3 inches in my stomach, and a few more here and there around my body, and I have gained a 1/2 inch of muscle both on my thighs and my biceps.
  • I am stronger.
  • I have less anxiety.
  • My stomach is rarely bloated anymore.
  • And overall, despite many of the stresses of the last few months, I'm feeling happier and more positive.

I'd say that's just the gift I needed for Christmas.

Now my plan for the holidays is to enjoy my family, our traditions, and the food while being conscious that I still have a ways to go. I hope to maintain my current weight and kick off 2019 ready to drop a few more pounds and gain some more muscle.

What gift are you going to give yourself this Christmas and what goals do you have for the new year?

Happy Holidays everyone ... and if you feel like giving a gift to yourself this year, I highly recommend giving Aimee a call at Berkshire Fitness and Wellness Center.
