What magical scenes will fill your child’s summer dreams? From crafting celestial sculptures to designing a unicorn’s secret grove, Second Nature Arts' week-long camp programs in Stockbridge, MA overflow with creativity, play, and endless possibilities. Children hone familiar skills and discover new ones as they dive into whimsical, hands-on projects using a wide range of materials to bring their ideas to life. Daily Imagination Stations offer additional opportunities for open-ended artistic exploration across multiple media. You’ll bring fantastical beings to life and create miniature mythical habitats using natural materials and more! This week invites playful, hands-on making that blends myths, storytelling, and thoughtful design to create detailed artworks full of personality and charm.Week 2 (6/29–7/2): Make Your MarkThis week, you’ll explore bold lines, shapes, and patterns using a variety of fun tools like stamps, stencils, sponges, paper punches, and string. Discover how artists use different kinds of marks to share their ideas and style through eye-catching designs. Then turn your lines and designs into vibrant prints and playful paper creations—like mobiles, layered sculptures, and 3D collages—that jump off the page with personality.Week 3 (7/6–7/10): Mix, Match, MashupDraw inspiration from artists across time and place to create bold, 3D designs. Each day, experiment with drawing, collaging, stamping, and papercutting to make buildings full of personality, discovering how blending styles and techniques can turn simple materials into extraordinary creations. By week’s end, your designs will come together into a lively, playful neighborhood that celebrates a unique mix of imagination and creative approaches.Week 4 (7/13–7/17): Fantastic FibersWeave, stitch, and felt your way through a colorful week of fiber art fun! Try your hand at vibrant string art, embroidery, and even wool painting as you explore texture and pattern. Using thread, fabric and yarns of all kinds, you’ll transform simple materials into creations as fun to touch as they are to see.Week 5 (7/20–7/24): To Space & Beyond!Blast off into an out-of-this-world art adventure! Create cosmic landscapes, alien habitats, and glowing celestial artworks inspired by planets, stars, and distant galaxies. Each project will launch your creativity into a whole new realm as your cosmic ideas take shape.Week 6 (7/27–7/31): The Secret Life of BooksUncover the magic hidden inside the cover—and beyond the first glance—of every book. This week, you’ll make and transform books, creating playful and unexpected works of art using a variety of mixed-media techniques. Filled with drawing, collage, layered textures, and surprise pockets, your stories are sure to spark curiosity and wonder in every reader.
